 The Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Association purchased the c. 1730 Suyd
 am House at the crossroads of Centerport Road and 25A in January of 1989. 
 During the restoration of the one-story west wing of the house in 1993\, t
 he c. 1920 floor boards were removed. What was discovered buried in the di
 rt between the hand-hewn floor beams along the perimeter of the stone foun
 dation was an overwhelming amount of pottery shards from the Huntington po
 tteries that had operated on the east side of Huntington Harbor since the 
 18th century.\nCome hear historian Toby Kissam\, who was involved in the d
 iscovery and has researched the potteries\, talk about the history of the 
 Huntington potteries and the significance of those archeological finds.
